Amazing Slow-Cooked Flank Steak

1-1/2 lb. flank steak
1/2 onion, minced
2 tbs. vinegar
1 cup hot water, divided
1 beef bouillon cube
1-1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 pepper
1. In a skillet, heat a small amount of oil over high heat. Brown steak on both sides and place in the bottom of a large slow cooker.
2. Reduce heat to medium-high and saute onion until tender and lightly browned. Add vinegar and saute for another 30 seconds. Add 1/3 cup water and scrape the browned pieces off the bottom of the pan. Add spices, then transfer the mixture to the slow cooker.
3. Dissolve bouillon in remaining 2/3 cup hot water and pour into slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4 – 6 hours or until tender. Slice or shred and serve with drippings.
