Vegetarian Split Pea Soup

  • 1 lb. dry split peas
  • 6 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 4 – 5 carrots, chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. fresh ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. marjoram
  • 2 bay leaves

 

1. Place all ingredients into crock pot, cover and cook on high for 4 – 5 hours.

2. Remove bay leaves, and puree with immersion blender. Serve with grilled cheese sandwiches!

 

NOTE: for a little something special, add partially cooked turkey bacon with all the other ingredients
